Amorim Revestimentos is an Amorim Group company dedicated to manufacturing floor and wall coverings whose main characteristic and common denominator is the use of cork as one of their main components. The products of this brand have an excellent thermal and acoustic performance typical of this natural insulator and represent a measurable reduction of the carbon footprint associated with carbon emissions. Amorim Revestimentos has made a continuous effort to improve the performance of its materials, both technically and in terms of their environmental performance.

 

In recent years, the company has invested in the use of innovative materials and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies as an eco-design tool, improving its carbon footprint. The development of EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) is a complementary way of objectively communicating the environmental impacts associated with the marketed products. LCA & EPD development work on Amorim Revestimentos' flooring has been carried out since 2011. From that date onwards, about ten products were evaluated with LCA; as a result, about 10 EPDs were issued, of which three already correspond to renewals of the EPDs produced.
