The restrictions imposed by the historical context and the change of occupation of the site required a thorough analysis in the future intervention. The project ended up structured in four main units, characterized by different languages and taking advantage of a common outdoor space. In terms of sustainability, it currently meets all the criteria and requirements to achieve BREEAM certification. As far as the building is concerned, it was intended to include on the site a total of 47 flats, ranging from lofts to 4-bedroom residences, with the option of shared and family housing. Since the overall objective was to fully regenerate the complex, the proposed solution honours the historical heritage, without neglecting the characteristics required for world-class housing in accordance with high standards of quality and modernity.
